eh...

It's rough, sloppy, and didn't know where it was going. Shread wank-ery>>

I can hear some chops through the static though, I think with some real effort you could make something people would enjoy more. Unless you don't care if a lot of people like what you make, and are happy with this, then keep doing it.

DeathMetalGod responds:

Thank you for the review. It doesn't matter if I get positive or negative reviews. It still means something to me.

Real mellow and darkx]

It'd make great background music, could really set the mood for a lot of things.

I don't have any real suggestions, about the music, or changes I'd make.

You're using hypersaw, or hypersaw heaven.

I could tell that immediately, and that's not good, I'm guilty of using it's default setting too, at least when I was new to this stuff but I think it would've sounded better if you click fx in styrus, and there's 4 delay tabs, i think it'd have been better if you shut the delay off.

Also pads are more ideal for chords, like heaven and I think above clouds 2 are close to the saw sound. There's also a pad called saw, but I don't like it.

Keep at it, the more you plug the better your ear gets, cuz when I listen to some of my old stuff, I immediately think stuff like "how the hell'd that sound good to me? or omg that clap is over powering."

meakoee responds:

Thanks for the feedback. Its Gold saw but they're isn't much difference between that and any of the other saws. I would say don't read into the title so much because I hate coming up with titles. Again thank you for the feed back :)

Dat intro synth,

it's pretty:3, the tone of it, I love it, it's not a default setting on anything right? What vsti did you use for it? Not very much drums in it, but the melodies and the whole things just really pretty and chill. There's a total lack of a low end too.

If it were my song I'd actually speed it up after the intro, maybe play that 1st part again but faster, and add some real fancy break beats in it. But that's me, and that's probably not what you're going for since you didn't take it that direction. It reminds me of a megaman x song ,or something snes, but slowed down.

Kieda responds:

I was mostly using Sytrus and Nexus, and I pitched the whole song down a bit.
Yeh, there aren't really drums on it as I didn't find them fitting and I like it more this way =]. I can see what you mean by slowed down, it is 140 bpm, maybe I could speed it up a little...

edit: I can't choose of 140bpm and 160bpm, maybe I'll just leave it like this :P

edit2: oh yes, the introsynth is gold saw from sytrus with a small mastering.

pretty good.

Probably the 3rd best remix i've heard of this though. There's a lot of them out there already.

I also live in teh middle of nowhere IL, corn, corn everywhere>>

SessileNomad responds:

i live in illinois, i know how it is to have 'corn, corn everywhere'

what other remixes have you hear, most of the ones i hear are actually pretty bad, or mixed with shit like never gona give you up

Amazing

The way it fades from what sounds like a bedroom recording with a mic to an interface/studio recording really stands out to me. And i know you're not a huge musician or anything (not yet) but it really makes this have a down to earth feeling.

I've been listening to your stuff for the last few days, and it's on a different level then a lot of the stuff I make, but it's almost inspiring, it's a very matured sound, and my last 10 submissions have been crap. It, for some reason, reminds me of paul van dyk, which is good, cuz out of the most famous 3 dj's/artists I can name in trance, he's probably the only one I like, and I like him a lot. Though I love your songs, some of it's to mellow for my tastes, too...traditional trance for me. But I really love your last 2 submissions. Sorry if I rambled.

pretty neat

Pretty neat guitar sounds/fx, but the recording and guitar are a little rough/harsh. And the drums don't stand out that much.

Kuma-AKA responds:

True. It was really just an experiment though. I do need a better quality mic though.

great loop

It'd be great for like, menu music or background music.

It'd be good for a level in a game or something, but it's so short it'd probably drive me crazy after hearing it to man times.

Japillow responds:

Thanks!

Pretty good for an hours work.

The drums are really cool, almost tribal like. The melody that comes in about 18 seconds in is nice, and the one that comes in over it after it plays for 18 seconds sets it off that section.

You probably don't value my opinion very much, but shooting zeros is the only song I don't like that I've listened too. And probably don't care, but I got vanguard and massive, maybe I can make better sounds now.

Cuzone responds:

I love Massive, it's brilliant, it's got some awesome sounds, but I use it more for spacey pads than for leads like the :18 sound or the :55 sound. Anyway, thank you for the review! :) I think we might be talking in more friendly terms now.

I like this one more.

Much more tolerable then the other track I reviewed.

Not much else I can say about it other then it's cool.

I'm stratkat, I make noise.
