I liked this one more, but that kick is way too busy for such a chill track, it's also way too dry. I'd try some variation, and work on the percussion, otherwise I'd remove the kick entirely and make it a short loop. Not bad though.

I was thinking I might redo this and push the kick into the background. Only problem is, the kick is actually the bassline. A lot of experimenting going on basically. I'm glad I got at least a few things right though.
That snare's slippery, should've topped it off with another one, the song covers the low end pretty well, but there's so much room to play around in the intro with some noises to make it less repeditive, it's something I'd hit the skip button on.
What does come in for the mids isn't too pleasant, really it had the potential to be a really chill track, I think you could it tons better with some reworking.

Thanks for the quick critique. This one was another experiment -- mostly just feeling out different oscillators. Could use, like you said, some reworking on the break. I did have two different snare samples I tweaked, reversed, and compressed a bit. I've always had trouble getting them to shine though.
I'd say it's more something to listen to while doing something else, like focusing on a racing game.
Really like the lead in the intro, and the vocal sounds. Pretty mean and intense build-ups there. Like the orientalish pluck melody. It felt like it was gonna have something really intense after the build up, but it kept itself pretty contained after the intro, lots of tension. Great madness track. ^^
Thanks man! Your review cheered me up!
The voice is a little shrill in places, if you didn't I'd have tried cutting off 100 or so hertz on the high end.
Catchy and Awesome though, it being a bit rough on the high end through my rig is my only complaint.
Generous of you to post the acapella, any chance on a midi coming with that? Or at least a progression, key/scale?
You're right about the voice being a bit too much on the high-end, I had a lot of trouble to make the lyrics understood and at the same time keeping it safe EQ wise, welp!
I'll do a MIDI version of it now for people to follow along, thanks for the suggestion!
Smooth man, I can totally hear this in the background of a menu screen. Pretty marketable stuff, I mean if you go for that sort of sound, this is something that could be used easily.
The synth sound, bass, the wooblock hit, it all melts together, I can't point out anything I'd change.
thanks, really? I thiunk this track is way too simple.. :)
Yeah man, the update sounds awesome, love it. Definitely does the composition some justice, I really like the track and it's one of my oldest ones, I should take a crack at updating my version sometime.
Thanks Man i felt a sudden need to update this, glad you liked it. You should definitely do that.
The leads a bit on the high end, I like my kicks a bit tighter than that, the synth like sounds might be bettter to use bells, xylophone or glockenspiel (spell?XD). The lead melodies could have more layering/layers. Other than that I really like the melodies, and it loops well.
Thank you for your review :) i like it
Really like the panning in this, the snare (sounds like an explosion fx with a shortened waveform, then the full waveform plays after x bars, and that's awesome,) on the right is a little to subtle in the mix imo, like just a tiny bit too subtle.
The sounds/melody remind me of cave story, which is a recent pixel game I played with awesome music x3
Nice track.
Ah, I see what you mean on that right being a tad too subtle, but after spending some time messing with the balancing, I don't think I can quite fix that without drowning the rest of the song.
Thanks for the review!
I'm stratkat, I make noise.
